ON-PROPERTY & ONLINE

IMPROVE YOUR PROFITABILITY WITH HIGHLY ACCURATE BULLS.

NB Genetics is owned and operated by Nick and Kate Boshammer, near Chinchilla in the Western Downs, Queensland.

NB Genetics specialises in supplying top-tier bulls to Australian beef producers. By implementing world-class practices supported by scientific research, we aim to equip our clients with the competitive advantage needed for profitability across various markets and conditions.

NB Genetics breeds Angus Bulls to perform in three key areas:

  • Functionality / Fertility: Cattle must be structurally sound and fertile and able to adapt, perform and calve out in all environments.

  • Efficient Production of Kilograms: Cattle must eat less to gain more in a shorter amount of time.

  • Carcase Quality: At processing we want to see better yield, marbling and muscle.

We're excited to stand by our extensive research and look forward to seeing the added value NB Genetics brings to our clients.

Call us to discuss your breeding objectives.

Our client base extends throughout Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia. From Chillagoe to Coober Pedy, Warialda, Nebo, Winton and everywhere in between!

NBGen sires are bred to excel in the tough environmental conditions with majority of our bulls sold to clients in North, Central and South West Queensland.

Many of our repeat clients are strong supporters of the NBGen program and use our bulls because they are seeking sires that thrive in rangeland conditions. They like the fact that our bulls are genuinely grass-fed and straight out of the paddock, ready to work.

The below 3 charts show how our 2024 auction bulls compare to the Angus average for 200 Day Growth, IMF and Angus Breeding Index. We are proud to see how well we are performing in these areas.

TIM,
CECIL PLAINS

We wanted a bull that was highly fertile, had strong growth EBVs and excellent carcass traits. With NBGen, we got that and more.

ROGER,
CONDAMINE

We drafted our NB Gen feedlot steers this morning and saw phenomenal results after 100 days on feed.

ADG: 2.919kg

Min: 2.27kg

Max: 3.46kg

ANDREW,
LONGREACH

Our NBGen bulls show good temperament and type. The service and follow up by Nick show a dedication to pursing a good result for his clients.

BILL,
CHINCHILLA

I recorded a 100% preg-test rate in my cows and heifers that were joined to NBGen bulls in 2020. This is the first time I have ever received this result.

ARCHER,
WALLUMBILLA

We are very happy with the sensible preparation of NBGen bulls. We bought Ponga QLMP865 at the 2020 sale and since then he has had to deal with heat, flies and dry buffel - yet he looks even better than the day we bought him!
