REFERENCE SIRES

For our upcoming bull sale on Monday 17th August, we have bulls by leading reference sires from both Australia and the USA.

Our bulls are bred through a combination of natural mating, artificial insemination and embryo transfer, allowing us to access proven genetics from around the world while continuing to build consistency within the NBGen program.

It’s always rewarding to watch these sires perform, assess their progeny and see the influence they have across the herd. to observe their performance, evaluate their offspring, and witness their impact on our herd. We’ve been extremely pleased with the consistency, quality and type of cattle these bloodlines continue to produce, and we’re excited to offer these sons in our upcoming sale.

Across the program, NBGen bulls are selected with a strong focus on calving ease, rapid early growth and high-quality carcass traits, while still leaving functional, moderate-framed daughters that can thrive and reproduce efficiently in commercial conditions.

NBGen Tahu T819 was one of the standout sires to sell in our 2024 sale and has continued to generate strong interest through his exceptional carcass credentials and overall balance. T819 combines elite marbling performance with strong structure, softness, body capacity and commercial practicality. His progeny are moderate, easy doing cattle with excellent temperament, natural thickness and the kind of phenotype that fits real-world production systems.

We were especially excited to see T819 ranked amongst the leading Angus sires in Australia for marbling performance in a recent World Angus Evaluation. To see an NBGen-bred sire listed alongside some of the country’s most recognised programs is something we’re incredibly proud of, and a strong reflection of the direction we continue to take the program.

The first sons by T819 have developed extremely well and we’re excited to offer 4 sons in this year’s sale.

Transcendent is still one of the highest marbling bulls in the Angus breed. This will be the first year we offer Transcendent sons, with many more years to follow. He is still a bull we are using in our joining programs today and we hope you can see why with his group of auction bulls. His data set is very influential and complementary to so many of our cows. A sire leader in the IMF department, he certainly breeds plenty of shape and softness to his progeny. Transcendent sits in the top 20% for hair shedding, an important trait for many of our northern clients.
